Mauritania: Minister of Health discusses with Iraq’s Ambassador

mauritania-iraqThe republic of Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania have been strengthening their relations since the arrival of the new Iraqi Ambassador to the desert dominated territory mid last year.
Efforts are being made to develop the relationships and to make them more fruitful. It was in this vein that the Minister of Health, Mr. Ba Houseynou Hamady, received the Iraqi delegate in his office to discuss issues of common concerns.
The discussions centered on issues related to health, cooperation between the two countries, the means of improving them for the benefit of the two countries and their citizens at large. The meeting was also held in the presence of two of the minister’s counterparts; Mr. Sidi Ali Ould Sidi Boubacar who occupies the post of General Secretary  in the Ministry of Health and Mr. Isselmous Ould Mahjoub, the director of programming and coordination.

Since the arrival of Dr. Ahmed Naif Al-Dulami, Iraq’s Ambassador; numerous meetings of such nature have been held with several other ministries of the Islamic state in his desires to strengthen the links of brotherhood coupled with bilateral relations and cooperation.
It can be remembered that since the fall of Saddam Hussein, Iraq is trying to portray a good image on the international stage especially in the MENA region and the actions it undertakes are a clear testimony.
Mauritania has its stability threatened by numerous coups in recent years and the presence of Al-Qaeda on its territory has also raise alarm about its security. Social issues have also made way to the headlines on several occasions.
