King Mohammed VI and Gabonese President chair signing ceremony of six cooperation agreements
King Mohammed VI and president of Gabonese Republic Ali Bongo Ondimba chaired, on Tuesday at the presidential palace in Libreville, the signing ceremony of six cooperation agreements in different fields.
Under the first cooperation agreement, which concerns the field of health, the Kingdom of Morocco shall support the health sector in Gabon, especially for the development of the National Gabonese Institute for training, health and social action (INFASS), and provide technical assistance for the management of health and epidemiology services.
Morocco shall also provide the Gabonese side with an annual quota in medicine faculties for medical personnel in specialties of its choice.
The second partnership agreement, in the same field, provides for training health personnel in INFASS. It provides in particular for supporting this institution by its Moroccan Rabat-based counterpart.
The agreement also aims to strengthen collaboration between the two institutes in the field of training, expertise-sharing and the development of joint projects in the area of research and care.
The two sides signed an agreement on cooperation in civil protection, especially in preventing and managing major risks that pose a serious threat to the security of people, property and the environment.
The agreement provides for cooperation, among other things, in the fight against anthropogenic disasters such as pollution, accidents or fires in environmental protection facilities, buildings receiving the public and high-rise buildings.
The fourth agreement is a protocol for cooperation in the technical field, the field of fraud suppression and the field of laboratory.
It provides for the creation of a sectorial Moroccan-Gabonese committee which shall meet alternately in Rabat and Libreville every two years and set up cooperation programs and actions in the area.
The fifth agreement touches on authorizing Radio Méditerranée Internationale to broadcast on FM in the Republic of Gabon.
The two sides finally signed an agreement establishing a framework for strategic partnership in the areas of information technologies and systems.
