With a strong Sense of Citizenship, Moroccan Monarch made a frank diagnosis of the education and training system and hurry to the establishment of the Higher Council for Education

mohammed VIThe Moroccan Monarch King Mohammed VI addressed the nation on Tuesday on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People.

The royal speech that focused on Education issue was forthright, constructive but critical to the constructive

The speech was forthright, frank, critical, but constructive in addressing the problems of education in Morocco, and a chance to review the achievements made ​​during recent years in this sector.

Proceeding from the conviction that the true strategic wealth of Moroccan is his human resources, the king Mohammed VI called the current government to do hard for make use of past achievements away from all the political calculations.

Moroccan monarch, expressed his frank feelings are stemming from his concern as a father, as a citizen, and of course from his responsibility of head of state.

And His Majesty elucidated different achievements that have been accomplished during recent years, The Monarch has explain  that : “ The education sector is facing many difficulties and problems. They are mostly due to the adoption of some syllabi and curricula that do not tally with the requirements of the job market. Another reason has to do with the disruptions caused by changing the language of instruction from Arabic, at the primary and secondary levels, to some foreign languages, for the teaching of scientific and technical subjects in higher education. Accordingly, students must be provided with the necessary linguistic skills so that they may fully benefit from training courses”.>

The king concluded that this frank diagnosis of the education and training system requires an action and He called for  “the implementation of the constitutional provisions regarding the Higher Council for Education, Training and Scientific Research” and called “on the government to speed up the adoption of the necessary legal texts relating to the new council”.

But to gain time, and overcome vacuum, The king called in the meantime “to set in motion the Higher Council for Education with its current composition, in accordance with the transitional provisions stated in the Constitution, in order to carry out an evaluation of the achievements of the National Charter for Education and Training ten years after its launch and tackle this major national issue”.
