Sierra Leone Donates U.S. $1 Million to AU Trust Fund On Mali
The Government of Sierra Leone last Wednesday donated one million US dollar to the African Union (AU) Trust Fund on Mali.
Sierra Leone donated the stated amount in honoring the pledge it made during the Donors’ conference on Mali, held in Addis Ababa, on 29 January 2013.
The pledge was made in response to the AU Peace and Security Council request to mobilize adequate support for the African-led international efforts to help resolve the multidimensional crisis in Mali.
Sierra Leone joins other African countries and institutions which have already honored their pledges to the AU Trust Fund, which administers the financial support to AFISMA including Gabon (one million USD), Namibia (one million USD), Nigeria (five million USD) and CEN-SAD (one million USD).
