Akon unveiled as co-host of AFRIMA
American but Senegal-born pop star Akon will co-host Africa’s greatest music award All Africa Awards (AFRIMA) Sunday in Lagos, Nigeria.
Akon, talented, multi-award winner, singer and song writer and now philanthropist will emcee the 4th annual AFRIMA with Ms. Sophy Aiida, a Cameroonian-French entertainment broadcaster.
The Duo will handle proceedings of the event on November 12, at Eko Convention Centre of the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island.
Akon’s co-partner Aiida is a Paris-born Cameroonian who migrated to the US, New York where she lived for 15 years before returning to her Cameroon to contribute for development. She is an undisputable broadcaster known across the central African region with her name also echoing in other parts of the continent.
The event, to be broadcast live on over 80 television stations and on online platforms around the world, is organized by the Lagos State of Nigeria in association with the African Union Commission.
The production will be handled by Backstage Pro, a leading and prominent marketing/production agency.
Very important personalities including diplomats, government officials, music stars industry legends cross the continent will be walking on the longest red carpet in Africa.
