Cote d’Ivoire: King Mohamed VI inaugurates disembarkation point in Abidjan
Visiting King Mohamed VI inaugurated Monday a fishing disembarkation point, north of Abidjan just a day after his arrival ahead of EU-Africa summit.
The project located at Locodjro, north of the Ivorian capital necessitated 2.6 million euro and consists of maritime protection structures as well as infrastructure for small-scale fishing activities including storage facilities.
Host President Alassane Drame Ouattara also attended the ceremony of the project named after the Moroccan monarch.
The project will enable creation of several job opportunities that will help develop the fishing industry of West African country.
Later in the day, King Mohamed VI also unveiled a training center providing several skills including hospitality management and construction and civil engineering, in Yopougon, north of Abidjan.
Launched in 2015, the project cost over 6 million euro.
King Mohamed VI arrived in Abidjan on Sunday for a state visit and ahead of two-day EU-Africa summit to start on 29-30 in the capital.
