DRC/Belgium: strengthening military cooperation

Mr. Pieter de Crem, the Belgian Defense Minister was leading a high delegation of Belgian officers and experts in training. He stated in Lubumbashi that Belgium is resolved to strengthen its military cooperation with the Democratic Republic of Congo to form an effective republican army in this country.
He located his working visit to DRC in the context of the revival of military cooperation between the DRC and Belgium, and particularly in the field of training and equipping the Armed Forces of the DRC.
While in Kinshasa, he was received by President of the Republic, Joseph Kabila Kabange, before a series of talks with his Congolese counterpart, and with Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the DRC.
