Ivory coast: The electoral process “stuck”

Political parties are accused of blocking the electoral process by their disagreements meant to culminate in a presidential election postponed since 2005.
This crisis has led to the dissolution in February of the government and the Independent Electoral Committee by Mr Gbagbo . While the Committee has not yet renewed with the new electoral process, the presidential camp and the opposition parties have already clashed in particular modalities of their mutual discontent. These latest developments proved to be purely a theoretical engagement for the presumed presidential election by “late April/early May. The poll, postponed since the end of the mandate of Mr Gbagbo in 2005, is supposed to end the crisis resulting from the failed coup of 2002.
