The Zimbabwean government on Monday denied having signed an agreement allowing Iran to exploit uranium deposits in Zimbabwe.

In an interview with Voice of America, the Zimbabwean Minister of Industry and Commerce, Welshman Ncube, has denied reports published by the British newspaper, the Daily Telegraph, explaining that it is not even clear that Zimbabwe has exploitable deposits of uranium.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the Mugabe regime and Iran have reached an agreement to allow Tehran to exploit uranium reserves in Zimbabwe during the visit to Iran, in March, of a senior Zimbabwean representative.
