After Egypt, the vice-president of the United States visited Kenya and evoked the reforms organized by the coalition government. The White House indeed follows closely the evolution of this key partner in the region.

Its stability is fundamental for combating terrorism in particular in Somalia. Joe Biden delivered on Wednesday, June 9th a speech in Nairobi criticising the management of the public finances and the endemic corruption which continues in the country because of the total impunity.
The Kenyan leaders have to resist to the temptation of instilling   fear and division in the country. It is the message of firmness that the American vice-president Joe Biden delivered in his speech in Nairobi. The biggest scandals of corruption which led to the diversion of hundreds million dollars did not see any punishment.
“Too many resources were lost in the corruption. No single senior official was punished for these crimes. Too many institutions in the country lost the trust of the people, too much time Kenya stayed divided, suffering from ethnic tensions manipulated by the politicians, who place their personal interest before that of the country. The crisis which struck Kenya in 2007 had revealed how these negative forces are dangerous “, declared the American vice-president.
