North Africa: development is linked to peace and stability
By African Bulletin on June 25, 2010
“Morocco is fully aware of the various challenges faced by Mauritania and the whole region as well as safety that threaten peace, security and stability in the region mainly because of illegal immigration, terrorism and trafficking in arms and drugs” has declared Mr. Ouzzine during a discussion panel on the strategic directions of the Mauritanian government and its public investment program.
He added that “Morocco is convinced that development is the fundamental accelerator of peace and stability”.
This two days round table was organised by Mauritania with the support of the European Union, the World Bank and United Nations Development Program for development. It aims to take note of all actions undergone in terms of good governance and future prospects. It also aims to mobilise development partners to help finance the public investment program of the government, but also to present to the private sector all investment opportunities in the flourishing Mauritanian sectors.
