The Supreme Court has announced that the final results of the first presidential election round will be announced officially on July 19 instead of Wednesday as planned.

This date change has occurred due to the political parties that  have not filed complaints and still have two days to reply to the other opponents of the first round “, said Robert Guilao, adviser to the Supreme Court.
In addition, he said, the Supreme Court is still receiving and processing the applications sent by the political parties to challenge the provisional results published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (CNEI) on July 2, giving Cellou Dalein Diallo and Alpha Condé as the runners for the second round. He added that the political parties, after announcement of the final results, have eight days to file any application or contest, and will be considered by the Court. The replicas could be made in two days and the Court itself has three days to decide. Then after that proclamation, the law shall fix the date for the second round of the presidential election and the campaigns will start soon throughout the national territory.
