Tunisia: the Libyan proposition against the immigration is serious

Tunisia considers seriously the proposal made by the Libyan leader, Colonel Muammar Gaddafi, to fight against illegal immigration.

This proposal is commissioning a detailed study to reach consensual and effective findings to address this phenomenon in order to safeguard the interests of different parties and strengthen the capacities of our countries to identify appropriate solutions to fight against illegal and unorganized immigration.

This question has been raised by the Libyan leader given its importance and sensitivity for the countries of North and South shores of the Mediterranean and in the light of the substantial funding required for the treatment of this problem. This question concerns Tunisia in the foreground, in light of the weight it continues to endure because of the phenomenon of illegal immigration and its humanitarian, social and economic implications.

The Libyan leader has claimed to Rome, the sum of 5 billion Euros per year, from the European Union, in order to fight against illegal immigration. The reply to the Libyan request is in the interest of Europe, otherwise, with the advent of millions of immigrants, Europe could become Africa “, Colonel Gaddafi has stated.
