Rwanda: Victore Ingabire, an opponent like no other
After being accused of various crimes, including grenade attacks, the authority relies on the testimony of a former member of the Democratic Liberation Forces of Rwanda (FDLR), a predominantly Hutu group based in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Ingabire victory would have contributed to the creation of an armed group responsible for chaos in Rwanda, together with another sworn enemy of the regime, Paul Rusesabagina, former manager of the Hotel “Mille Collines” in Kigali, which inspired the film titeled “the Rwanda Hotel”. Having lost a brother in the 1994 genocide, murdered by the Hutu Interahamwe militia, but also other members of her family were killed by the Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF) now the ruling party, Victoire Ingabire does not hesitate to provoke the regime. After sixteen years of exile, Ingabire has called for the recognition of all the Hutu , victims of crimes against humanity and war crimes, who were not mentioned or honored. Later on, she will visit the Dominique Mbonyumutwa’s grave of, the first Hutu president (Hutu) of the independent Rwanda, but hated by the RPF. Prevented from being a candidate in the August presidential, Victoire Ingabire knew she was threatened, as well as other recent opponents jailed or murdered. Ingabire is 42 years old, mother of three children. She is reportedly subject to mistreatments since her arrest, according to her party, the UDF.
