Handicrafts from Morocco and Cote d’Ivoire: Hand to Hand for synergetic south-south cooperation

Ivorian Minister of Trade and Handicrafts, Jean- Louis Billon has considered Morocco an example of success in crafts.

Jean- Louis Billon expressed last Monday during a signing ceremony of a partnership agreement between the National Federation of Traders Côte d’ Ivoire ( FENACCI ) and the Federation companies crafts of Morocco that will draw on the experience of the kingdom of Morocco to give a new impetus to this sector that “Morocco is for me an example of success in crafts. No craftsman remained on the side of the road, ” said Ivorian Minister .

“I am eager to be back to Morocco to learn, ” he added.

Welcoming the signing of this which he said is a good initiative , Jean- Louis Billon invited Moroccan economic operators to invest more in Côte d’Ivoire since the potential of the country’s economy remains untapped.

From the Moroccan side , The Minister of Arisanat , Fatima Marouane has insisted on the need for ” the sustainability of actions that has been  undertaken “.

It is to notify that both the President of the FENACCI , Farikou Soumahoro Soumahoro and the corporate of crafts industry in Morocco, Azzedine Kraffssi  have recalled that the Convention is structured around three objectives .

” Sharing knowledge and expertise , providing a new impetus to trade between the operators of the two countries , and creating a space for exchange and information between operators in the two countries “.

Several obsevers have stated that this action came just after the historical visit of the King Mohammed VI to Côte d’Ivoire. And should seen as a physical configuration of his Majesty’s vision in south-south cooperation.

During this event Morocco has been elected the ‘best participant at  the Ivorian Market crafts (MIVA 2014) which closed its doors on Sunday afternoon at the Palais sports Treichville ( c south of Abidjan) .

The official closing of the first edition of MIVA was chaired by the Minister for the Promotion of Youth, Sports , Alain Lobognon , representing the Prime Minister Daniel Kablan Duncan , accompanied by  the ambassador of Morocco , Jebari Mustapha ,and  the Head f the ministerial cabinet  of Commerce , Trade and SME promotion of morocco  and many other personalities.
