TICAD 5: [irst ministerial meeting in Yaounde
Yaounde meeting is first ministerial meeting of Ticad V to evaluate the level of implementation of Yokohama declaration action plan 2013-2018.
The Yokohama declaration and Yokohama Action Plan 2013-2017 that was drawn up at the end of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development TICAD V meeting in June 3rd June 2013 is intended to further enhance Japan – Africa cooperation in the area of economic development, peace and stability.
The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister Philemon Yang President Paul Biya’s personal representative. In his speech, the Prime Minister encourage participants explore ways of developing transport infrastructure between African countries to ease transactions, amongst other demands.
Japan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kishida Fumio stated his country’s determination to work for a sustainable development in the African continent.
