India deploys four warships in East Africa seas

India has deployed four of its naval warships in the seas of East Africa and Southern Indian Ocean in a bid to step up maritime security cooperation, sources said Saturday.

“INS Mumbai, INS Talwar, INS Yamuna and INS Deepak are part of a goodwill trip to the region intended to supporting maritime security in Kenya and East African nations,” the sources said.

The Indian Navy regularly makes goodwill port calls in the region, apart from training the navies of the East African nations.
