The King Mohammed VI Visits ‘Les thermes’ Hotel Where Late King Mohammed V Stayed in Exile

The King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Prince Moulay Ismail and Malagasy president Hery Rajaonarimampianina, visited, on Wednesday in Antsirabe, “Les thermes” hotel where late King Mohammed V stayed, along with the royal family, during their forced exile in Madagascar.
On 20 August 1953, the French colonial authorities who were occupying Morocco at the time, has forced the king Mohammed ben Youssef and his family into exile on Corsica, then transferred to Madagascar in January 1954.
During those eleven months of exile in Madagascar, the Malachi people have expressed an unconditional sympathy with le Moroccan leader, and assisted his nationalistic activities for the independence of Morocco
