The European Union will provide $US 161 million to support economic integration in Africa, according to an agreement signed Monday in Nairobi.
The agreement, signed between the EU and International Organization Development, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa and the Community of East Africa and Indian Ocean, is intended to support the regional economic integration and development projects in the region.

“These developments bring new challenges but also new opportunities for us to continue to develop our partnerships in the fields of climate change, migration, peace and security,” said the director of the African, Caribbean and Pacific of the EU Commission, Gary guineas at the ceremony signature.
He said these projects are the first of a very large allowance released under the 10th European Development Fund for the region of East Africa and Indian Ocean during the 2008-2013 period. The total amount came to 845 million Euros, to support the regional integration process.
