By on April 2, 2010
The RCA political wrangling continues on the electoral calendar. President Francois Bozize issued a decree postponing the May 16 general elections. All the opposition forces, consolidated in a   Central Nation Union, protest that postponement is not feasible. Its coordinator, Mr. Henri Pouzere, declared that general elections should be postponed to late 2010 or early 2011. He added that “The Republic of Central Africa is now occupied and we have said that there is an internal rebellion that continues to rage”.

The Humanitarian Affairs Office release states around 162 000 people that have moved in RCA, and fled their houses because of the different rebellions. “There are still lots of areas, relatively populated, in the country – not just those where the LRA (Lord Resistance Army) is still rampant – which are deteriorating, because still under control of other rebel group».
1.5 million dollars was required, Tuesday, March 30, by a group that seized Marine MV-Seagull crew. This is one of the highest ransoms demanded by a group of pirates operating off the coast of Nigeria. The figure is a basis for negotiations. The business of piracy in the Gulf of Guinea is expected to quickly shift in an industry activity.
While armed groups in the Niger Delta are reluctant to break the truce and resume attacks against the massive oil industry, piracy, offshore Nigeria is expanding. The statistics compiled confirm the argument. In 2009, 40 pirate attacks have in the region, resulting in 27 successful collisions.
Sometimes the rebels of the Niger Delta are directly involved. Earlier this week, an attack against a brigade of the gendarmerie of the Bakassi peninsula on the border with Cameroon, was conducted by some of them. The aim of the operation was to seize weapons from the police.
