Conakry: People of Guinea need an unifying President

By voting for the presidential election on June 27, the people of Guinea will open a new era in their existence, and the whole international community is eager to see the coming back of Guinea in the comity of great nations.

It is a political challenge that the country must tackle in order to achieve early revisions of the administrative apparatus and restructuration of the state. “We need a true leader, emerging from the elections, a leader that unites all ethnic groups”. It is so urgent for the country to get out of this sociopolitical impasse, which has been, for a long period of time, preventing us from taking a real boost for our development.
The people of Guinea and their political leaders must seize the tremendous hope, solemnly aroused by General Konate, to allow us to choose for the first time our president through a democratic election which hopefully will be transparent.
The first issue of this election is to integrate the electoral culture in the mentality of Guinean population, and the second challenge is for the “he who will win the polls”. He should above all be President of all Guineans whatever their social and political sensitivities are or would be…
