The General Antonio Indjai, justified the military coup that brought him to overturn, on April 1, Chief of Staff, General Zamora Induta. He explained that General Zamora was leading the country into chaos and managing the military as «his private property”. Antonio Indjai sent a letter to the Justice of Guinea-Bissau to explain his actions, even condemned by the international community, and mainly the Portuguese.
Lisbon is considering Zamora Induta as a loyal ally, demanded his release and the Portuguese media regularly talk about a presumed torture and sufferings of Zamora Induta.

While in the background, continues the struggle for influence at the highest summit of the state. Carlos Gomes, the Prime Minister, Malam Bacai Sanha, the president, are at loggerheads.
Carlos Gomes authority, supported by Zamora Induta, has weakened considerably since his arrest. Bacai Sanha, meanwhile, is somehow wary of the military that clearly no longer defends its interests.
The army, now in the hands of a group of officers close to the dreaded Bubu Natchu, is more than ever in a position of strength. Though, questions are raised to see how long could last the threats and the external pressures that prevented the physical removal of the Prime Minister, on 1 April
