Nigeria: Would the hatred end one day
By African Bulletin on April 21, 2010
Nigerian security forces shot dead two people apparently belonging to a group that was preparing to attack a predominantly Christian village near Jos, in Plateau State. Soldiers have been deployed in the region after the attacks in March that killed more than 500 dead.
“Their presence has helped to reduce the attacks, but the silent ones are still perpetrated, but it is true, not only by Muslims”, says Professor Victor area of the University of Jos.
“Most people are happy with their presence because they get to walk a little safer” he said, adding that the attacks that do occur lead some people to wish the soldiers had left to take arms and protect their lives and belongings.
