By on April 28, 2010
Gunmen killed a Nigerian journalist, Edo Ugbawu, a judicial correspondent, at his home. According to a colleague, he had never   worked on any controversial articles or received any threats.     The same day, two colleagues were killed while covering clashes between Christians and Muslims in Central Nigeria, said the Nigerian authorities.

The outbreak of violence illustrates the daily dangers faced by local reporters in this African country where corruption prevails at all levels of government. Some reporters moderate what they write not to annoy those in power.
Also in Jos, central Nigeria, beset by violence between representatives of different religions, two journalists working for the Christian newspaper “The Light Bearer” were killed on their way to a story. The Nigerian Union of Journalists has identified as Nathan Davbak, 36, and the reporter Gyang bweb Sunday, 39.
Already last year, a journalist of “the Guardian” had been left to agony, being bleed to death.
