Niger/UN: The alarm Cry about the food crisis

Food crisis “is just beginning” in Niger, warned Monday, April 26, John Holmes. On the first day of his visit to the country, the Secretary General of the United Nations for Humanitarian Affairs was held to highlight the importance of recourse to international assistance.

John Holmes began a visit to Niamey in Niger for three days, where, he said, 7.8 million people are in a state of «food insecurity” among some 10 million people affected by the crisis in the Sahel.
