Guinea Conakry: Deep concern about the June 27 poll
By African Bulletin on May 14, 2010
Recently, some news has spread like wildfire and it greatly affects the campaign of all concerned political parties, engaged in the Guinean presidential race. It is learned that the Foreign Minister of France, Bernard Kouchner had assured the leader of RPG “RASSEMBLEMENT DU PEUPLE DE GUINEE, Alpha Condé of his country’s support to his candidacy and he has even ensured that the chips are down and he will undoubtedly be the next elected President of Guinea.
All the other political parties in Guinea are stunned by the French stance, a country well known for democracy and free will. They resent this attitude unacceptable, and retaliation measures would be adopted if this news is confirmed. In any case, the news has spread across Conakry and throughout the country, and it become legitimate to wonder if it is useful to participate in these elections and it would be wiser to back off and see how the tempo-Game engaged will lead to the choice of the rightful President of Guinea.
