The National Assembly Symposium in Paris on

“State, Territory and Development in Morocco”

Under the auspices of the Parliamentary Friendship Group France-Maroc, the National Assembly hosts, next Thursday, June 24 (14 pm 30 to 18.30) , a symposium on the topic “State, Territory and Development in Morocco”. This symposium is organized by the Centre of Geopolitical Studies (OEG), the Faculty of Law at Paris Descartes university, the Moroccan Journal for local administration and development (REMALD) and the Association of Moroccan students in France

According to conference organizers, Professors Charles Saint-Prot, director of the OEG, and Frederick Rouvillois, a specialist in public law at the Faculty of Paris Descartes, the purpose of this Symposium is to provide a fresh reflection on “the emerging model of regionalization in Morocco¨ which is suitable to the country’s significant progress in political, social and economic areas.

Both speakers Professors Charles Saint-Prot and Frederick Rouvillois have co-edited with Professor Bouachik a forthcoming entitled ¨Toward a model of regionalization Morocco¨, this work published by the CNRS editions should be in the market very soon

During this Symposium, the followings papers are expected to be presented:

  • Mohammed Benyahya professor at the University Mohammed V -Soussi,Rabat and co-director of the REMALD: ¨King Mohammed VI and the idea of regionalization¨
  • Frederic Rouvillois, professor at the Faculty of Law at Paris Descartes University: ¨Regionalization; freedoms and political development.¨
  • Bouachik Ahmed, a professor at the University Mohammed V of Rabat-Soussi, co-director of the REMALD: ¨Regionalization, a new mode of regional governance ¨
  • Francois Grosdidier, MP, Vice-President of the friendship group France-Morocco
  • Mohamed Cherkaoui, CNRS research director: ¨Regionalization and cooperation¨
  • Henry Louis Védie professor of economics at HEC: ¨Regionalization and Economic Development: the Moroccan experience¨

Conclusions will be presented by HE El Mostapha Sahel, The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco in France
