Rwanda: strong tension in Kigali

In Rwanda, more the presidential election date approaches (August the 9th), and more the tension rises.

Last victim in date: Jean-Léonard Rugambage, journalist and deputy director of the independent semi-monthly journal, suspended two months ago. He was murdered outside his home at night in Kigali, a city known for being one of the safest on the continent.
This is the first time in twelve years that a journalist was murdered in Rwanda. Reporters “Without Borders” accused authorities of conducting a locked election campaign, in dismissing the opposition and stifling all critical voices.
According to the police, Jean-Léonard Rugambage was shot down by a stranger who fled. But according to his diary, he felt watched, threatened, and he was investigating on a sensitive issue: the attempted murder of General Kayumba Nyamwassa, last week in South Africa. However, Kigali has denied any involvement in this attempted murder of the former Chief of Staff of the Rwandan army. But the former, has been close to the regime, spoke about all the dangers encountered of criticizing the government. Since, he fled Rwanda after being accused responsible for grenade attacks in Kigali. General Kayumba slammed Paul Kagame, accusing him of authoritarian tendencies and corruption.
