Guinea: The political storms may wipe away the presidential

Electoral violence that left one person dead and 50 injured during the weekend in Conakry, cast doubts on the possibility of maintaining the second round of presidential elections Sunday,

nearly three months after the first round of the June 27. The two running candidates for the second round, Cellou Dalein Diallo and Alpha Condé, met separately with the transition Prime Minister, Jean-Marie Doré, to discuss the situation, just days before the election. Alpha Condé, the candidate of the Rally of the People of Guinea (RPG) had declared that the actual conditions are not suitable to hold the elections on Sunday. He added that the RPG and allied parties, gathered in the “Rainbow Coalition”, are demanding the publication of the electoral roll list and the and installation of new polling stations.
