Burundi:Repatriation and restored peace within the Congolese border.
it will be the turn of the 40 000 Congolese refugees who were mainly in Bujumbura, to return to their country of origin. At the same time, Germany is supporting the repatriation of the Burundians from Tanzania with a donation of one million Euros to the UNHCR services responsible for this operation. This is largely due to the climate of trust between Kinshasa and Bujumbura. The armies of Burundi (NDF) and the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) are driven to enhance their cooperation in particular to secure the Kivu provinces within one year of the Congolese elections. Despite the rumours circulating in the opposition spheres in Burundi, which lost the 2010 elections, there is no undergoing rebellion, and the Joint border patrols revealed no presence of any militia forces. Furthermore, no claim has been made for the different cases of serious crime reported in recent days by different spheres in Burundi. The borders of Burundi are opened to the East African Communities (EAC) and the country has facilitated the circulation within the GLFC area (Rwanda – Burundi – DRC).
