Guinea: the election campaign has started
Now, the two candidates, Cellou Dalein Diallo and Alpha Condé have reached the point of no return. Both candidates now face their conscience, and must perform, within the democratic principles, for a successful election, which are: confidence, discipline and patriotism. However and practically, every Guinean citizen knows also how the political context is tense, inflated by the ethno-strategic passions. The disagreement between the two challengers is still nourishing many uncertainties, and at the heart of the controversy, the neutrality and the impartiality of the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Lousény Camara. The flawlessness of the situation and the outcome of this election process were already taken as hostages and might deteriorate more if ever the due date of elections comes to be postponed again. Current pessimism persists, because supporters of Diallo and veteran opposition leader Alpha Condé have sharply differed over who will lead the electoral commission. This depends on the transitional authority. There is already an attempt to resolve it. Since last week, two new people were named, Mr. Kaybe, a judge, and Mr. Albert Gomez, a priest. If the new electoral commissioner is elected, then all the issues will be resolved.
