Guinea: Diallo is accusing Condé

The unsuccessful presidential candidate, Cellou Dalein Diallo, is accusing the winner, Alpha Condé, of having “provoked” ethnic violence occurred since October and has no plans at present to join  him in the future government.

He has made particular reference to the attacks that targeted specifically the Fulani on the 22, 23 and 24 of October in the cities of Upper Guinea, the Alpha Condé’s strongholds. “Apparently there is calm, but people are suffering from the brutality of the repression directed against a group of people, the Fulani, Diallo said. Arrests and search of those who expressed themselves, in Middle Guinea, are still continuing, Mr. Diallo added, speaking of manhunt. He said, however, that he and the party leadership are still reflecting on the “attitude to take,” once the provisional results of the presidential election were confirmed by the Supreme Court. And according to the provisional results, announced on November 15, Alpha Condé is prevailed with 52.5 %, and since he is advocating and calling for the “national reconciliation” and the establishment of a broad government of national unity. He wished that “all Guineans hold hand in hand, and stated that “many people exaggerate the ethnic problems in Guinea.
