Tunisian tourism eyes Turkish market
Tunisia will soon open a tourism office in Turkey, the official TAP press agency reported Monday.
TAP quoted Tunisian Tourism Minister Elyes Fakhfakh as saying that the new travel office aims at tapping the rich potential of the Turkish tourist market.
In 2011 only, 10,000 Turkish tourists visited Tunisia, the minister said when attending the annual meeting of the Tunisian Federation of Travel Agents in Istanbul.
On his part, Ozgur Ozoslan, Turkey’s secretary of state in charge of tourism, said the new Tunisian travel office will also enable the two countries to launch a joint promotional campaign in China as part of a cooperation project between the two countries.
Several Turkish promoters have acquired hotel units in Tunisia and Turkish tour operators are promoting the Tunisian destinations in Scandinavian countries.
