Morocco recalls Ambassador from Algeria
Under the articles on Responsibility of States for Internationally Wrongful Acts makes Algeria responsible, since wrongful acts committed by Polisario are under the Algeria, the host country of this group.
Morocco is recalling its ambassador to Algiers for consultations over remarks made by the Algerian president over the disputed Western Sahara region.
A Foreign Ministry statement Wednesday said the decision followed “numerous provocative acts and hostilities by Algeria toward the kingdom, particular with regard to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.”
Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika called on Monday for human rights monitoring in the Western Sahara. The statement was considered contradicting other previous declarations in which Algeria has pretended not being involved in the Western Sahara issue. It has showed- according to several observers- a blatant bias against Morocco, and against the will of the Secretary General of the united nations who called in his last report all actors to work for promoting dialogue towards a negotiated political solution
Afterward, in statements in the official press, Morocco accused Algeria of exploiting human rights issues to further its own interests in the region.
According to several observers the reaction of Bouteflika came as a defensive behavior to distance Algeria and to hide it from d accusations that Polisario is facing recently as potentional threats to all regional security. Either through its souspicious connections with some organized crimes and terrorist groups, or even by the State of siege overseen by Polisario’s guerrillas against Sahrawis in the Tindouf camps inside the Algerian territory
