Ivory coast: Symptoms of relax, but public doubts persist

The former rebel New Forces (F.N) in Côte d’Ivoire urged Ivoirians not to “cling” to date regarding the electoral process.
“The Independent Electoral Council (IEC) knows what to do and it will decide it in due course,” said the spokesman of the delegation, who also expressed the support of the General Secretary of the “Forces Nouvelles” and prime minister, Guillaume Soro, to the Chairman of the IEC in carrying out its task.

“The IEC is presented today as an important partner, seeking for peace and resolution of the crisis in Côte d’Ivoire”.
The process of ending the crisis in Côte d’Ivoire has a problem with the recent setbacks between the presidential camp and the former rebels regarding the voters’ list revision and disarmament.
Prime Minister Guillaume Soro and President Laurent Gbagbio were in Ouagadougou, where they met with the President of Burkina Faso, Blaise Compaoré – the facilitator of the Ivorian crisis – and attempt to remove blockages, and open the way to a permanent peace in the country after the military-political conflict that erupted in 2002 between a rebel army and the government army.
After several postponements, the vote is scheduled for “late April to early May”. However, this date still raises doubts in the national opinion …
