RDC: Congo has got enough Belgian bustles
“We are really surprised by all this public discussion”, the Congolese Minister of Communication, Lambert Mende, has indicated. “It is inequitable and totally unfit”, Lambert Mende added, one week before king Albert, queen Paola and outgoing Prime Minister Yves Leterme to attend the festivities in Congo.
On Sunday, it had seemed that the Belgian army would not take part either in the military parade. “It is ridiculous! We have even never invited the Belgian to come to participate to this event “, he specifies. “Now, and in regards to the discussions about King Albert’s visit: why is it necessary for every invitation to play such ping-pong party? The Congolese Minister has voiced. Congo Had invited around thirty heads of state. “Most of them confirmed to attend. And those who wouldn’t attend had serenely let us to know. There has never been a discussion on this subject. It is only in Belgium that we dramatise and it’s a pity. There exists (in Belgium) a real “devaluation about Congo”, Mr. Lambert Mende had estimated.
