The Moroccan Sovereign King Mohammed VI and Senegalese head of state Macky Sall chair signing ceremony of 13 bilateral agreements
The Moroccan Sovereign King Mohammed VI and President of the Republic of Senegal Macky Sall chaired, on Thursday at the presidential palace in Dakar, the signing ceremony of thirteen bilateral agreements on the different cooperation fields between the two brotherly countries.
These agreements are in line with the royal integrated approach towards Africa which puts the human element at the heart of the development process and its objectives.
Six out of the 13 agreements seek to promote human development programs given their direct impact on population such as the headquarters agreement between the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development and the Senegalese government, in addition to the setting up of an economic impetus group.
The thirteen agreements are:
– A memorandum of understanding to foster economic partnership and help with the emergence of regional economic actors (setting up of an economic impetus group), inked by Senegal’s foreign minister Mankeur Ndiaye and chairman of employers national council Baidy Agne and Morocco’s foreign minister Salaheddine Mezouar and CGEM president Meriem Bensaleh.
– An agreement on customs mutual administrative assistance, signed by Senegalese economy, finance and planning minister Amadou Ba and Moroccan counterpart Mohamed Bousaid.
– An agreement to construct a small-scale fishing unloading site in Soumbedioune in Dakar, inked on the Senegalese side by fisheries and sea economy minister Oumar Gueye and economy, finance and planning minister Amadou Ba, and on the Moroccan side by agriculture and sea fisheries minister Aziz Akhannouch, economy and finance minister Mohamed Bousaid, president-delegate of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development Mostafa Terrab and CEO of Attijari Wafabank group Mohamed El Kettani.
– An agreement on territorial administration cooperation, signed by Senegalese interior and public security minister Abdoulaye Daouda Diallo and foreign minister Salaheddine Mezouar.
– A memorandum of understanding on handicraft and social and solidarity-based economy, signed by Senegal’s women, family and children minister Mariama Sarr and handicraft and social and solidarity-based economy Fatema Marouane.
– An industrial cooperation draft agreement, signed by Senegalese industry and mining minister Aly Ngouille Ndiaye and minister of industry, trade, investment and digital economy Moulay Hafid El Alamy.
– A cooperation framework agreement on logistics, signed by Senegal’s minister of infrastructure and land transportation Mansour Elimane Kane and equipment, transportation and logistics minister Aziz Rabbah.
– A cooperation draft agreement on the milk, equine, animal health and veterinary public health sectors, signed by Senegalese minister of breeding and animal production Aminata Mbengue and agriculture and sea fisheries minister Aziz Akhannouch.
– A 2015-2018 tourism implementation program, signed by Senegal’s tourism and air transportation minister Abdoulaye Diouf Sarr and tourism minister Lahcen Haddad.
– A headquarters agreement between the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development and the Senegalese government, signed by Senegalese foreign minister Mankeur Ndiaye and president-delegate of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development Mostafa Terrab.
– A cooperation framework agreement on vocational training, inked by director of Senegal’s national office for vocational training Sanoussi Diakite and director general of the office of vocational training and labor promotion (OFPPT) Larbi Bencheikh.
– A cooperation agreement on purification between the national office for electricity and drinking water (ONEE) and Senegal’s national office for purification (ONAS), signed by director general of Senegal’s national company for waters (SONES) Charles Fall and ONEE director general Ali Fassi Fihri.
– A cooperation agreement on water between the national office for electricity and drinking water (ONEE) and Senegal’s national company for waters (SONES), signed by Charles Fall and Ali Fassi Fihri.
The ceremony was attended mainly by Prince Moulay Ismail, the King’s advisors Fouad Ali El Himma and Yassir Zenagui and members of the delegation accompanying HM the King during this visit to Senegal.
