After Senegal, King Mohammed VI starts his Official Visit to Guinea Bissau

After his successful visit to Senegal, King of Morocco Mohammed VI starts on Wednesday, May 27th, a three-day visit to Guinea Bissau, said a statement from the Guinea-Bissau Foreign Ministry. This is Mohammed VI’s first visit to the Western African country. The visit is expected to give new impetus to bilateral relations.

According to the statement, twenty cooperation agreements will be signed during the visit, mainly in the areas of health, education, agriculture and transport.

Morocco has reportedly made a donation of 12 tons of medical drugs to Guinea Bissau, including antiretroviral drugs and antibiotics for the treatment of tuberculosis.

A Moroccan medical team is also reported to have been dispatched to Guinea Bissau earlier this week to deliver free medical assistance and consultations and perform surgeries at the Simao Mendes Central Hospital, the country’s largest medical facility.

This is the second  phase of the actual royal tour of Africa, which will also take the monarch to Cote d’Ivoire and Gabon
