The King of Morocco, Guinean Pres. Visit Building Site of Vocational Training Complex and Enquire About Progress of Conakry Mother-Child Hospital Building

HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HH Prince Moulay Ismail and President of the Republic of Guinea Alpha Condé, visited, on Friday, the building site of the Vocational Training Complex in Conakry and were informed about the progress made in the construction works of the Mother-Child Hospital in the Guinean Capital.

Carried out by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development, this complex is aimed to provide qualified human resources for the sector of construction and civil engineering and that of tourism, hotels and catering, reinforce the employment of young people and their socio-professional integration and back up the large-scale socio-economic development projects in Guinea.
Built over a surface area of 3.2 hectares, this project is worth 65 million dirhams, including 15 mln MAD as technical assistance by the office of vocational training and labor promotion (OFPPT).
With a yearly capacity of 1,000 trainees, this complex, whose completion is scheduled for June 2017, offers 21 training fields.
As for the Mother-Child Hospital(160mln MAD), carried out also by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development, it will contribute to slashing maternal and child mortality rates, and offer health care for Mother-Child diseases and high-risk pregnancies, in addition to training health professionals and transferring competences.
Built over a surface area of 3.5 hectares, this hospital includes 86 beds and comprises wards for intensive health care, neonatology and gynecology, 4 operating rooms, 2 delivery rooms and a unit for radiology with ultrasound and echocardiography, a scanner and a laboratory of medical analyzes.
The yearly capacity of the health facility is 1,200 births, 6,000 gynecological obstetric consultations, 12,000 pediatric consultations, 600 gynecological surgery and 3,000 pediatric surgeries.
